Khrenin: Belarus, Iran stand together for the inviolability of principles of international law
The history of relations between Belarus and Iran has shown that our peoples know how to be friends and highly value the relations between the two countries, built on the principles of mutual respect and common values – as stated by Belarus’ Defence Minister, Lieutenant-General Viktor Khrenin, during a meeting with Minister of Defence and Armed Forces Logistics of Iran, Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Ashtiani – as reported by the Belarusian defence department in its Telegram channel
Viktor Khrenin also stressed that from the very beginning of the victory of the Islamic Revolution, the coalition of Western states – led by the United States – tried to impede the development and prosperity of Iran.
However, despite the imposed eight-year war, numerous terrorist attacks, unprecedented sanctions and political pressure, Iran was able to build a strong and independent state, the message reads.
“Our countries are similar in this. We, like you, clearly and consistently defend our sovereignty and independence. We are brought together by a common position on many topical international issues. This is not only an independent and pragmatic policy of the leadership of our states, but also a unity of views on the establishment of a just world order based on the development of multi-polarity and non-interference in internal affairs,” the Defence Minister of Belarus said.
Viktor Khrenin added that Belarus and Iran stand together for the inviolability of the principles of international law.
