KGB: traces of customer of terrorist attacks prevented in Belarus lead to Ukraine
Traces of a customer of the terrorist attacks – which were planned to be committed on May 9th, but were prevented by Belarus’ State Security Committee – lead to Ukraine, the ONT Telegram channel reports
“On the eve of Great Victory Day and directly on May 9th, several terrorist attacks were planned to be committed in Belarus. As informed by the KGB Chief, Ivan Tertel, the State Security Committee stopped those attempts,” the TV channel informed.
The explosive devices were disguised as household appliances imported to the country from abroad. The parcels were received by different people with the task to pick them up and ask no unnecessary questions. “At the right time, the parcels had to be activated – to result in human victims and stir up the situation in the country. Traces of a customer of the terrorist attacks lead to Ukraine," the source said.
Earlier, KGB Chief Ivan Tertel informed that attempts to commit terrorist attacks had been stopped in Belarus. “According to our estimates, those events were tied to May 9th. It was an attempt to stir up the situation. The Head of State is aware of this. We have detained a certain number of people who were preparing to commit terrorist attacks, and we know that the secretive agencies are involved,” he said. “Those were attempts to organise terrorist attacks on our territory, and we believe they were tied to Victory Day.”
Mr. Tertel noted the importance of citizens' vigilance, saying that the work of any special service would not be so effective without it. "Our youth, our students are being got involved in the commitment of terrorist attacks. Sometimes people fail to realise that they are acting somewhere on the verge of the law. In fact, they have almost entered hell," he said.
