KGB: special services of Ukraine were preparing murders of Belarusian statesmen and journalists
The special services of Ukraine planned the murders of Belarusian statesmen and journalists – as stated by Konstantin Bychek, the Deputy Head of the Investigative Department of the State Security Committee, in his talk with the Belarus 1 TV channel
Mr. Bychek explained that Belarusian law enforcement officers had stopped the activities of a network of Ukrainian agents engaged in the transfer of explosives and weapons to the republic. “During the investigation, caches of explosives have been found and seized. Data has been obtained on their possible use in the preparation and commission of explosions at oil refining enterprises, preparation for the murders of statesmen and journalists," he informed.
The State Security Committee has identified the curators from among the Security Service of Ukraine employees who co-ordinated the activities of the criminal group. Based on the obtained facts, the KGB Investigative Department has opened a criminal case. The actions of the defendants show signs of crimes such as treason, espionage and an act of terrorism. In line with the law, death penalty is envisaged for the latter.
