KGB Chief commented on attempts of terrorist attacks within Belarus: we will act decisively
The West is haunted by the fact that Belarus remains an island of stability in Europe – as stated by the Chairman of the State Security Committee, Ivan Tertel, on meeting the Minsk Tractor Plant employees
Mr. Tertel went to the plant to inform its workers on the emerging military-political situation in the country and abroad.
“Literally on Saturday [October 15th], our colleagues from the Interior Ministry detained several persons who had been preparing terrorist attacks at some Belarusian facilities under an initiative of BYPOL, which is fully controlled by Polish services. We will act decisively. We will simply destroy any terrorists," he said.
According to Mr. Tertel, all should work hard, ‘since independence and peace come at a high price’. “The West is very impressed that Belarus is an island of stability. This is the only country that has managed to resist in such conditions, to maintain allied relations with Russia and not to give them an opportunity to change the situation in our country,” he noted.
Mr. Tertel added, “I want all of us to understand that the fate of us and our children depends only on us. Nobody will be able to simply get out of sight. Young people are looking at us as an example. We should show our wisdom and authority to calm the situation, if necessary.”
