Industrial tourism on the rise in Belarus
Industrial tourism has occupied a certain niche and is gathering pace, with about two hundred enterprises in the country being ready to welcome guests and conduct excursions – as noted by Director of the Tourism Department at the Sports and Tourism Ministry Irina Voronovich
A representative of the department, “Industrial tourism has occupied a certain niche and is currently gathering pace. All foreigners who visit enterprises where such routes are already organised are surprised at the professionalism and all the technological aspects.”
According to Irina Voronovich, last year, the Tourism Department, together with the National Tourism Agency and the Minsk Tractor Works, prepared a methodological guide, thanks to which each enterprise can develop its own excursion.
“Excursion service departments appear at enterprises, and it is important that the tours are held in parallel with the working process. After all, people come to see how this or that product is made. This is especially interesting for children, who can not only see how sweets are made, how tractors are assembled, but also think about their future profession. There is also a career guidance component,” she added.
