In 2023, Belarus’ forestry enterprises increased sawn timber exports by almost 40%
In 2023, Belarusian forestry enterprises increased the export of sawn timber by almost 40 percent – as reported by the Forestry Ministry’s press service
It is noted that last year, forestry farms exported more than 955,000 cubic metres of sawn timber.
The department reported that this is 37.8 percent more than in 2022. The Forestry Ministry managed to redirect trade flows from Western European markets to the markets of friendly countries. Today, the products of Belarusian forestry enterprises are supplied to nine countries of the world.
The press service also noted that one hundred production facilities are currently involved in woodworking activities, including 88 woodworking shops and 12 workshop areas. The Forestry Ministry’s system has preserved woodworking workshops, employing over 4,500 people, living primarily in small towns and rural areas.
