Hungary demanded not to include Patriarch Kirill in EU sanctions list

Hungary is against the inclusion of Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia in the sanctions list – as reported by TASS with reference to Bloomberg

As informed, Hungary’s representatives put forward additional requirements to the EU ambassadors, which ‘delay the approval of the sixth package of sanctions against Russia’. In particular, ‘Budapest demanded that Patriarch Kirill be excluded from the proposed list of persons subject to sanctions’, the source said.

In addition, Hungary also raised ‘minor technical issues’ related to the embargo on Russian oil supplies.
