Hungary accused Ukraine of blackmail due to termination of oil transit
Ukraine is blackmailing Hungary and Slovakia with the transit of Russian oil, the situation should be settled by September – as stated by Head of the Hungarian Prime Minister’s Office Gergely Gulyas, TASS reports
During the press conference, Gergely Gulyas noted that Ukraine is blackmailing ‘two countries that advocate peace and a ceasefire’. He stressed that ‘a solution must be found by September’; otherwise, ‘Hungary will start to experience a shortage of oil’.
Earlier, Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto announced the termination of Lukoil oil supplies through Ukraine via the Druzhba oil pipeline. The Slovak Economy Ministry also confirmed that the country has stopped receiving oil from Lukoil due to Ukraine stopping its transit through its territory.
