The heads of state met on the Island of Valaam the day before. They talked one-on-one for a long time in an informal setting, but they also discussed the most serious issues. Today their communication continued, focusing on the international and regional agenda, as well as the Belarusian-Russian liaisons.

Aleksandr Lukashenko arrived in Russia on a working visit on July 25th. From St. Petersburg airport, he immediately flew by helicopter to Valaam.

The presidents together visited the Church of the Smolensk Icon of the Mother of God located on the territory of the Valaam Monastery of the Transfiguration of the Saviour. Then they went to the chapel of the Royal Passion-Bearers. After that, Aleksandr Lukashenko and Vladimir Putin continued their communication in a closed format.
