Guly: tourist flow is followed by investments and foreign exchange earnings
The peculiarities of service standards for Chinese guests and measures that can be taken to improve the quality of tourism services were discussed by representatives of the tourism industry at a press conference: Opening New Horizons: Development of Tourism between Belarus and China
Filipp Guly, the Chairman of the Board of the Republican Union of Tourism Industry, said, “Over the past year, our export market was actually focused on a mono-partner – Russia – which was able to support our tourism industry and significantly influence its development. However, the development of domestic Russian tourism leads to a reduction in the dynamics of the flow of Russians to Belarus. We have come to the moment when diversification became necessary for Belarus. Now we have the opportunity to talk about expanding co-operation with China.”
Filipp Guly added that the tourist flow, in addition to export foreign exchange earnings, will be followed by investments in natural areas, where spa complexes and hotels will be opened. A further point of growth is the development of infrastructure in the regions and the creation of new jobs. This would not have been possible without the development of large incoming flows from not only Russia, but also from other countries, primarily China.”
