Golovchenko presented state awards to honoured persons
On behalf of the President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko has presented state awards to sixty-four honoured persons of the country, who represent a wide variety of professions
"We have gathered here to celebrate the achievements of the persons who deserve to be known by the whole of the country," the Prime Minister said at the beginning of the ceremony, noting that the year of 2022 has not been easy for Belarus. Nevertheless, the country managed to survive that time with dignity.
“People are of exceptional importance for the country’s welfare. These are professionals and masters of their craft, who perform their official and labour duties on a daily basis and with full dedication. It’s a pleasure to see representatives of diverse professions present at this hall,” Mr. Golovchenko said.
Among the awardees were employees of Belarus’ petrochemical industry. The Prime Minister noted this sphere is demonstrating steadiness against the difficult conditions of illegitimate sanctions restrictions. “This year, the most complex projects dealing with modernisation of two refineries have been completed. An absolutely new oil pipeline has been built, and it connects now these two facilities in accordance with the instructions of the Head of State. The delayed coking unit, which has already been operating in commercial production mode since January of this year, has produced many new value-added products – thus contributing to the support for the company’s economy,” he said.
Mr. Golovchenko added that, after an increase in the volume of refining, start-up operations at the heavy oil residue hydrocracking complex were resumed at the Mozyr Refinery, “This will significantly increase the output of light oil products and will have a positive impact on the oil refining profitability at the enterprise. This project is technologically and financially complex. Their successful implementation is undoubtedly the merit of the professionals who daily work for the benefit of their enterprises.”
The Prime Minister addressed special words of gratitude to representatives of industry, noting that the Industry Ministry enterprises have performed well this year. “The growth of production volumes has been ensured, and a significant increase in exports of industrial products is predicted – at least by 13 percent at year-end. Enterprises are not just working successfully: they are developing. Investment projects are being implemented, and an emphasis is being placed on production of import-substituting products. We are working closely with our strategic ally, the Russian Federation, in this sphere,” he noted.
Mr. Golovchenko addressed words of gratitude to employees of tax authorities and also thanked teachers for their work, “You are facing a difficult, yet very important mission: to educate and teach the younger generation. Children should have access to qualitative education, and teachers should enjoy all the necessary conditions for comfortable and decent work. These and other tasks are set by the Government.”
Among the awardees were representatives of the media as well, and employees of the Belarus Segodnya Publishing House received awards. The Prime Minister recognised an important role of journalists in the struggle for the information field, “These are journalists who should present an objective and adequate picture of what is happening – cleared of information garbage and obvious fakes – to society.”
At the end of the ceremony, Mr. Golovchenko, on behalf of the Government and on his own behalf, congratulated the awardees on such a significant event in their lives, “I am convinced that the high awards bestowed upon you today will become an unconditional incentive to continue honest and selfless work in the interests of our country and citizens.”
Polina Ivanova, the Editor of the Political Information Department of the Belarus Segodnya Publishing House affiliated with the Administration of the President of the Republic of Belarus, delivered a short speech at the ceremony, “First of all, I would like to express my gratitude to the Head of State for the trust, appreciation and recognition of our work, and also to the Government – for doing everything possible to ensure that our country lives calmly in conditions of turbulence, and our citizens do not experience the consequences of external shocks. The President often says that everyone should mind their own business, and all those present here in the hall are a vivid example of how it is necessary to treat the work. When we are honest, sincere and do our job well, then our family and our country will live well. I love Belarus!”
