Golovchenko: industrial co-operation is key element of co-operation between Belarus and Bashkortostan
This was stated by Belarus’ Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko during his meeting with Head of the Republic of Bashkortostan of the Russian Federation Radiy Khabirov, which took place today at the House of Government
The Prime Minister recalled that the main measure of any relationship is statistics. According to him, based on the results of 11 months of last year, the trade turnover between Belarus and Bashkortostan increased by over 10 percent. And this is not the limit, since it is possible to achieve much greater results.
Roman Golovchenko focused on the need to discuss at the meeting co-operation projects that are being implemented by the parties.
“Taking into account the developed industry in Bashkortostan and Belarus, the key element of liaisons is industrial interaction,” the PM underlined. “Therefore, in the course of the reports, we will listen to the acute information in each area that we have agreed on (maybe additional decisions need to be made). Moreover, I know that new topics have appeared that have not been discussed before, particularly, regarding the elevator equipment.”
Roman Golovchenko also noted the successful implementation of the project initiated by Radiy Khabirov and the Government of Bashkortostan to establish the production of grain drying complexes.
Moreover, he recalled that this year the 10th anniversary Forum of the Regions of Belarus and Russia will be held in late June in the capital of Bashkortostan, Ufa, “Of course, we are very actively preparing for the most important event of the current year. It is necessary to approach it with significant results that can be presented, including to the heads of state.”
In his turn, Radiy Khabirov noted that there is one important indicator in the bilateral relations of our countries, “An increasing number of enterprises, sectors of the economy are involved in co-operation between the enterprises of our states.”
The Head of Bashkortostan stated that his region is interested in the supply of road, municipal, agricultural and other Belarusian equipment, “We look with great interest at the possibility of buying MAZ buses in the very near future – there are financial resources for this.”
Radiy Khabirov voiced the idea: if MAZ is certified by the time of the Forum of Regions, the guests of this event will be transported by Belarus-made buses.
In general, as far as the upcoming Forum of Regions is concerned, the Head of the Republic of Bashkortostan recalled that the dates have already been determined: it will be held from June 26th-28th.
“Since it is the 10th event, the main task is to sum up the ten-year collaboration between the regions of Russia and Belarus. The economic component is important: summing up the results of economic liaisons,” he stressed.
According to Radiy Khabirov, a large-scale exhibition is planned in Ufa, “We want to give almost the entire street and the exhibition space in order to show all the equipment of Belarus as much as possible, to show what the country has achieved.”
Moreover, cultural, sports and youth events are planned.
Focusing on the results of joint work, the Head of the Bashkir delegation highlighted the result of work on the supply of soda ash for glass enterprises in Belarus, “We have settled the issue of delivery through a direct channel, as requested by the Belarusian side.”
In his opinion, co-operation projects bring their creative effect: the construction of Amkodor service maintenance centre and grain drying units is ahead of schedule.
Moreover, Bashkortostan is keen to expand collaboration in the light industry. To this end, within the framework of the current visit, the delegation of this Russian region is visiting the Belarusian enterprise Komintern.
“In general, alongside cold numbers, there is the most important thing: human communication and circumstances that contribute to contact, which is what is happening between Belarus and Bashkortostan,” Radiy Khabirov summed up.
