Golovchenko: Belarus, China prepared impressive package of agreements for signing

Despite the difficult geopolitical conditions, global turbulence, and international instability, bilateral contacts between Belarus and China are developing on an upward trend – as stated by Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko at a meeting with the Chairman of China International Development Co-operation Agency, Luo Zhaohui

Roman Golovchenko noted the special importance of the fact that the visit of the distinguished guest took place on the eve of the visit of the Premier of the State Council of China, Li Qiang, “As I was informed, you have arrived in Belarus with good news. This gives us the opportunity to qualitatively prepare an economic package of agreements for the meeting with my esteemed colleague. We consider this stage of our relationship to be very important – primarily because we should fill the new status of relations between Belarus and China, that the heads of our states and governments fixed last year, with a new economic content.”

The PM drew attention to the fact that the Belarusian and Chinese sides have already prepared an impressive package of agreements for signing, “We believe that these documents will consolidate the plans for a promising partnership between Belarus and China in key areas of our co-operation. Among the latter are the economy, trade, industrial and technological interaction, science, education, transport, digital development, green economy, and regional liaisons. Belarus is very pleased that the Chinese government has supported the Belarusian proposal to dedicate another thematic year to co-operation in the field of science, technology and innovation.”

Also, according to the PM, Belarus is particularly interested in signing a detailed plan for integration of the industrial policy of the two countries within the framework of the implementation of a comprehensive strategy for joint industrial development during the upcoming visit of the Premier of the State Council of China.

“I believe that this plan should become a programme document that will add a concrete practical content to the new status of our interstate relations: the status of all-weather and comprehensive strategic partnership. Despite the difficult geopolitical conditions, global turbulence and international instability, bilateral contacts between Belarus and China are developing on an upward trend. I believe that the work of your state agency, your personal support and the work of all employees of your organisation to promote the most important projects of Belarusian-Chinese co-operation make a huge contribution to this,” Mr. Golovchenko addressed the Chinese guest.

In turn, Luo Zhaohui noted that Belarus is a reliable friend and partner for China. Against the background of external problems and regional conflicts, the two countries are under pressure from the collective West, so the strategic importance of Belarusian-Chinese relations is of particular importance.
