Golovchenko: Belarus, Bashkortostan actively liaising to stimulate business activity
The governments of Belarus and Bashkortostan are actively working to stimulate business activity – as stated by Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko during the Belarus-Bashkortostan international forum in Minsk
“I’m very pleased on behalf of the Belarusian Government to welcome everyone in this hall at the opening of the Belarus–Bashkortostan business forum. In my memory, this is the first time that the Palace of the Republic – one of Minsk’s main buildings – has hosted a business forum. This is due to the great attention it receives and your active business position,” noted Roman Golovchenko.
The PM said that this event is being held in the interests of developing the economies of Belarus and Bashkortostan, “More than 400 business representatives from various fields – energy, agriculture, industry, construction and services – are taking part in the event. This is the result of targeted work carried out by the governments of Bashkortostan and Belarus to stimulate business activity, as well as establish and develop new connections between business representatives.
“External events around our states have pushed us to strengthen bilateral ties. These challenges and threats only brought our countries closer, enabling us to strengthen integration processes,” noted Belarus’ PM.
Roman Golovchenko also drew attention to the fact that bilateral trade turnover between Belarus and Russia in 2023 totalled $53bn, exceeding the previous year’s result by 6 percent.
“This is a great success, but it doesn’t appear from scratch. These are ‘streams’ that are formed at different events, conferences, meetings, and negotiations, pouring later into this ‘big river’ of bilateral trade turnover,” he concluded.
