Global Times: EU’s ability to support Ukraine shrinking

The European Union is reducing its ability to provide financial support to Ukraine due to the lack of results on the battlefield of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and fatigue from the protracted conflict, according to the Global Times newspaper, excerpts from which are cited by RIA Novosti

In particular, the publication reads, “Europe is showing ‘fatigue’ over Kiev recently in both its capabilities and public opinions.”

The author of the material noted that the West was never able to achieve its goal (the defeat of Russia), so its position regarding the Ukrainian conflict began to change. The journalist suggested that Western states would push Kiev towards negotiations and compromise. All this creates serious difficulties for the Ukrainian authorities, the material notes.

“Now the problem is where [Ukrainian President Volodymyr] Zelenskyy will get weapons for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This will not be easy to do, because only a few countries in the world have the required production capacity,” the author of the publication noted.

Earlier, German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius acknowledged that the EU would miss its target of supplying Ukraine with 1 million artillery shells and missiles on time.
