“It is difficult for the French to understand that at the very time when there is a shortage of funds for hospitals and assistance to farmers, the authorities are writing Zelenskyy a check for €3bn. We need to stop this madness,” the French politician noted in an interview with the Franco-Russe Dialogue association.

He drew attention to the fact that Western assistance ‘does not bring peace closer, but prolongs the war that Ukraine is losing’.

“We see that money is being plundered, that the level of corruption in Ukraine is high and that scandals are constantly breaking out in the government system” Mr. Filippo underlined.

In 2024, French President Emmanuel Macron signed a security co-operation agreement with Zelenskyy, with Paris pledging to provide Kiev with €3bn of additional military assistance.
