20+ former servicemen and employees of law enforcement agencies stripped of ranks

On November 18th, President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko signed Decree No. 425 On the Deprivation of Military (Special) Ranks – as reported by the Head of State’s press service

In line with the decree, former servicemen and employees of various law enforcement agencies (senior officers) were deprived of military and special ranks — a total of 21 people.

During the aggravation of the socio-political situation in 2020, they committed unlawful acts that are incompatible with the status of a serviceman. In this regard, the heads of law enforcement agencies, in accordance with the established procedure, initiated before the Head of State the issue of depriving these persons of their military and special ranks.
