Foreign Ministry hosted meeting with heads of diplomatic corps and offices of international organisations
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has hosted a meeting with the heads of foreign diplomatic missions and offices of international organisations, dedicated to the process of constitutional reform in the Republic of Belarus. More than 50 foreign diplomats took part in the event – as the sb.by was reported in the press service of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry.
Speaking with a welcoming speech, Belarus’ Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei stressed the importance of the constitutional processes taking place in our country and their significance for the evolutionary path of the Belarusian society’s development.
The main speakers on the topic were Deputy Chairman of the Constitutional Court, member of the Constitutional Commission, Natalya Karpovich, Director of the National Centre of Legislation and Legal Research of the Republic of Belarus, Vadim Ipatov, and Director of the National Centre for Legal Information of the Republic of Belarus, Andrei Matelsky. The guests of the event were provided with detailed information about the proposed changes and additions to the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus, about the course of the nationwide discussion of the amendments under consideration, alongside reasons and purposes of their introduction.
As part of an active exchange of views, numerous questions were received from the participants of the meeting, to which the experts gave answers and clarifications.
