FMs of Belarus, Pakistan held talks
Negotiations between Belarusian Foreign Minister Maxim Ryzhenkov and Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan Mohammad Ishaq Dar have taken place in Islamabad today, sb.by reports with reference to the Belarusian Foreign Ministry
During the meeting, the parties discussed a wide range of issues on the bilateral agenda, as well as co-operation in the international arena.
Maxim Ryzhenkov noted the intensity of Belarusian-Pakistani co-operation: in less than six months after the meeting between President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko and Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif on the side-lines of the SCO Summit in Astana, political consultations have been held between the foreign ministries, and a meeting of the Joint Commission on Trade and Economic Co-operation has been organised. In October 2024, the Prime Minister of Belarus visited Islamabad and held talks with his Pakistani counterpart.
Belarus’ Foreign Minister thanked the Pakistani side for the constructive joint work on the preparation of the visit of the President of the Republic of Belarus to Pakistan. He noted that a representative business forum is being held in the Pakistani capital these days, and the heads of Belarusian ministries and departments, members of the official delegation, are holding talks with their Pakistani counterparts.
The parties discussed the elements of the programme of events at the highest level, as well as bilateral documents planned for signing. They agreed to co-ordinate joint work to facilitate the effective implementation of agreements to be reached during the visit.
