Aleinik: Belarus taking retaliatory measures against increasing offensive potential in Poland and Baltic States

Belarus is taking retaliatory measures against the extension of offensive capabilities by Poland and the Baltic States – as stated by Foreign Minister Sergei Aleinik in his talk with RIA Novosti

The Foreign Minister of Belarus noted that a growing militarisation of the border area is obvious now, “We see an increase in offensive military capabilities in Poland and the Baltic States, and we are following these processes with concern. Naturally, we are taking adequate response measures aimed at ensuring the protection of sovereignty, independence and maintaining the appropriate defence capability of our state.”

According to Mr. Aleinik, the rhetoric of the West today is ‘very active and very hostile’. “Time will show what actions will be taken. In any case, the military activity that we are witnessing today cannot but cause concern in Belarus and Russia. On the other hand, as we have voiced it and continue to state, we are able to ensure our defence capability and security and to protect our country," he added.
