FM: Belarus, Syria declared unacceptability of sanctions in trade
Belarus and Syria have adopted a joint statement to all bona fide participants in the international community on the unacceptability of the use of unilateral coercive measures in trade – as noted by Belarus’ Foreign Minister Maxim Ryzhenkov after the signing ceremony of the relevant statement following his today’s talks with Syrian Minister for Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Bassam Sabbagh
“We have adopted a joint statement to all bona fide participants in the international community on the unacceptability of the use of unilateral coercive measures in trade, including the supply of humanitarian goods and cargoes to ensure food security, as well as in sports, culture and other areas of international relations,” Mr. Ryzhenkov said.
Syrian Minister for Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Bassam Sabbagh is currently on a working visit to Belarus and is expected to take part in the 2nd Minsk International Conference on Eurasian Security. In September, Maxim Ryzhenkov and Bassam Sabbagh held a meeting on the side-lines of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly in New York, where they discussed projects to restore the infrastructure and economy of Syria, the continuation of the recuperation of Syrian children in Belarus, and other issues.
