Finland’s Prime Minister: Europe is too dependent on China in terms of technology

Finnish Prime Minister Sanna Marin said Europe is currently too dependent on China in the field of technology, and it should be wary of this – since the EU will not be able to cope without Chinese chips and semiconductors, Reuters reports

Ms. Marin delivered a speech at an annual start-up event in Helsinki, focusing on Europe’s technological vulnerability since its member states are very dependent on chips and semiconductors supplied from China.

The Finnish Prime Minister called on Europe to start investing more in its own development of new areas of technology. She especially noted artificial intelligence and quantum computing.
