FAO Council members urge US and EU to immediately lift sanctions on food and fertilisers

During the 174th session of the Council of FAO (Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations), Belarus, China, Cuba, Venezuela and other states again called on the US, EU and their allies to immediately lift all unilateral measures on food and fertilisers that violate the UN Charter – as reported by the press service of the Belarusian embassy in Italy

The devastating impact of sanctions on global food security was noted, with FAO Council members and observers urging the organisation to conduct an objective assessment of the situation in the world in connection with the use of unilateral coercive measures.
