Expert on tactics of Western special services against Belarus, Russia

In his talk with Alfa Radio, the Chairman of the Board of the Second National TV Channel, Marat Markov, commented on the subversive activities of Kiev and its Western bosses, explaining what methods are used by Ukraine’s special services to recruit terrorists, how much these traitors’ job costs, and how Belarus fights saboteurs and Ukrainian agents

“It is clear that a significant part of efforts of Ukraine’s foreign intelligence and security service is aimed at causing damage primarily to the Russian Armed Forces, including those stationed on the territory of Belarus,” Mr. Markov said. “We remember the terrorist attacks against Russian facilities on the territory of Belarus, against the A‑50 aircraft based at our airfield.”

As noted by the expert, the tactics of Western intelligence services in relation to both Belarus and Russia have changed. “Previously, they tried to rock us with the help of ‘democratic values’ and to destroy us from the inside. However, at present – especially after 2020, and even more after the start of the special military operation – they aim to shift the emphasis towards terrorist activities. So we must take into account this point.”

The recently screened Cleaning Up film [about Belarus’ fight against terrorism] is among several others shown to the audience, but – as noted by Mr. Markov – many aspects of the daily activities of the country’s special services are still behind the scenes. Meanwhile, enormous work is being done to ensure that Belarus is not dragged into a direct conflict.

“By the 2025 elections, our opponents want to create conditions to blow up the situation from the inside, to establish the grounds for ‘democracy’ to be imposed on Belarus by force from abroad,” Mr. Markov said. “Why is militarisation taking place in Poland, and why are the exercises at our borders lasting for six months? Why are the Baltic States and Poland building up the forces that are comparable to the army of Belarus or even outnumber it at times? Do they want to bring peace to us though this? Moreover, sabotage work is being carried out, channels are being probed, and people capable of participating in terrorist activities are being found. As a rule, the latter are those on the fringes of society, and our film confirms this. Actually, what can we say of a person who has not officially been employed anywhere for two decades years after graduating from school? What money does he use to live on? Those [from abroad] find the ones who went out to protest in 2020, who are opposed to the normal situation in Belarus – playing on their weaknesses: either dissatisfaction with the state authorities, or lack of money, or even their narrow outlook. Under such circumstances, these groups of people capable of committing anything, including terrorist attacks, are being formed.”

At the same time, Mr. Markov emphasised that telephone methods of blackmail and recruitment in Ukraine have long been put on a professional basis, “Accordingly, it can be expected that the efforts of Western special services by the hands of Ukraine, Poland and the Baltic States against Belarus will continue growing. We should not calm down, and this refers to everyone. When a person sees that something is wrong... For example, one of the ‘heroes’ of our film ‘was just driving’ someone who had to put a parcel with explosives in several caches. Didn't he understand what was happening? What are people thinking about?”

The West is also drawing fugitives into terrorist activities; earlier, these people were paid simply for their bad words about Belarus. “At present, most funds are spent on training them as terrorists. They are being prepared at bases in Poland and the Baltic States so that they shed blood in Belarus. We must be ready for this in 2025. After all, you can't do good without using your fists,” Mr. Markov added.
