Expert on parliamentary election in Georgia: despite external pressure, Georgian people voted in favour of sovereign development

Foreign agents of all stripes have once again shown who they serve and who pays them. They are not interested in their own citizens or their future, they are focused only on their own well-being. Therefore, the ‘Maidan’ mechanism is being launched once again, when the country is forced to go down the path of destruction – as noted by Doctor of Military Sciences, Prof. Nikolai Buzin, the Chairman of the Standing Commission on Human Rights, National Relations and Mass Media of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus, when commenting on the parliamentary election held in Georgia.

The parliamentarian stressed that despite the strongest external pressure, the Georgian people have voted for traditional values, sovereign development, peaceful existence with neighbours and national revival, “Some 54 percent of Georgians supported the ruling Georgian Dream party, which retained its majority and will form a new government. However, neither the opposition nor President Salome Zourabichvili recognised the results of the referendum and called on citizens to take to the streets. They were echoed by Mikheil Saakashvili, who is currently serving a prison term. Brussels and Washington have already called for ‘investigating voting irregularities’. EU top diplomat Josep Borrell cited among the problems ‘violation of the secrecy of the vote’ and ‘concerns about the impact of recent legislative amendments’ on the vote. Foreign agents of all stripes have once again shown who they serve and who pays them. They are not interested in their own citizens or their future, they are focused only on their own well-being. Therefore, the ‘Maidan’ mechanism is being launched once again, when the country is forced to go down the path of destruction.

Mr. Buzin pointed out that the situation is completely different in Moldova, where the whole West praises it for its ‘European’ choice, and the difference between supporters and opponents of European integration is less than 1 percent. In this case, no one talks about totalitarianism, but only about ‘democracy’.

“There’s no doubt that similar clichés will be tried to be used against the Republic of Belarus. Meanwhile, election is exclusively our internal affair. We, Belarusians, delegate power to those whom we trust, to whom we can hand over the fate of our country and our own children, to those who do not trade in state sovereignty. People in Georgia did the same on October 26th, 2024, and we wish them only prosperity,” added the MP.
