Mr. Andreev predicted that certain crisis moments are possible in some countries, “This is an objective factor, but I think we should better focus on our domestic problems. We can see that the countries which surround us, except Russia, are not very happy that the Belarusian economy works well, that we live in peace and calmness, that there is even a certain economic rise despite the sanctions pressure, that people have jobs. Therefore, I am sure that there will be provocations on the part of Belarus’ neighbours. Moreover, this has been repeatedly stated by high-ranking Polish officials. During their speeches, they said that they were ready to support our fugitives, that they were forming units and the so-called ‘sleeping cells’. We cannot ignore this.”
According to the expert, it is necessary to be vigilant and always be ready to solve sudden problems. “Fortunately, the country's power bloc has repeatedly demonstrated how quickly they can respond to a particular situation, to stop it so that there are no consequences for Belarusian people. I am sure that our law enforcement agencies will be fully prepared for the upcoming electoral campaigns, and everything will be organised at a high level. [No need] to think that some provocations will achieve their goal. I think we will cope well if any of them are made,” he said.
Mr. Andreev added that the number of combat squads, units and combat groups of the Belarusian neighbours is negligible and poses no serious threat to the republic, “It cannot be ruled out that an inadequate person may try to carry out some kind of intimidation action, set something on fire somewhere, but it is definitely absurd to assert that they can radically reverse the situation in the country, disable the government system, or openly confront our law enforcement agencies.”
