Expert: Belarus’ economy has prospects of becoming integrated into China's industrial might

Back in September 2022, the leaders of China and Belarus jointly announced the establishment of the bilateral all-weather and comprehensive strategic partnership, and political expert Yuri Shevtsov explained what new quality the relations of the counties have acquired

“It's a phenomenon: a small European country has found itself on a par with a nuclear superpower. Belarus has reached a very high level of relations with China, which provides access to high-tech economic projects. By the end of the 2020s, this country expects to become the first economy on the planet, and it will do this through a scientific and technological breakthrough. The Belarusian economy has become involved in the prospect of becoming deeply integrated into China's industrial might and its technological core. The results are already evident: i.e. joint biotechnological developments. It is predicted that they will place Belarus among the top five largest countries in the world in the production of vitamins. Co-operation through science and technology opens up access to projects that are not even dreamed of in any Eastern European country," Mr. Shevtsov said.
