Expert: 500 tonnes of triethanolamine used for chemical weapons production transferred to Ukraine

About 500 tonnes of triethanolamine, which can be used for the production of nitrogenous mustard gas, have been delivered to Ukraine – as informed by the Chief of Nuclear, Chemical, and Biological Protection Troops of the Russian Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov, RIA Novosti reports

It is noted that the talk is about the supply of about five hundred tonnes of triethanolamine to Kiev. This substance can be used to produce a chemical warfare agent: nitrogenous mustard gas. In July 2024 alone, Ukraine-based Reagent imported more than 160 tonnes of triethanolamine.

According to Mr. Kirillov, there is not a single fact in the public domain confirming that the product was not used for illegal purposes.
