Expert: President Lukashenko never lost his connection to the people
Aleksandr Lukashenko is a President who has never lost his connection to the Belarusian people, said political scientist Vadim Yelfimov, the Head of the Department of Social Policy and Ideology at the Academy of Management under the President of the Republic of Belarus on air with Belarus 1 TV channel
Mr. Yelfimov made it a point to remind the audience how often Aleksandr Lukashenko takes time to meet and talk to ordinary people.
“He’s talking to them all the time, often informally. He’s always listening to what people have to say,” explained the expert.
“Yes, can’t say I’ve seen [French President Emmanuel] Macron tour the villages,” agreed the show host, Belteleradiocompany Chairman Ivan Eismont.
Mr. Yelfimov emphasised that Aleksandr Lukashenko truly is a people’s President.
“He feels the people. Ordinary citizens can share their thoughts with him, or ask him for something. Our President has never lost that connection. Personal contact is important. It means, first of all, that the President has nothing to fear from the ordinary people. And second, we see he’s eager to hear what they say, get some new ideas, etc. That means that we, the people, and our President are on the same page,” concluded the speaker.
