Economy Ministry: Belarus interested in expanding co-operation with UNIDO in regional industrial development
Belarus’ Economy Minister Yuri Chebotar held a meeting with a mission of experts from the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO), sb.by reports with reference to the Economy Ministry’s press service
In Belarus, the delegation plans to monitor the implementation of the Promoting Introduction of 4th Industrial Revolution Technologies in Mogilev Region international technical assistance project and to discuss the preparation of new projects initiated by the Belarusian side.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the results of the assessment of the potential for the use of Industry 4.0 technologies in the Mogilev Region and the level of readiness of the region for digital transformation and introduction of these technologies, as well as the creation of the Technopark 4.0 digital platform and equipping the experimental demonstration centre at the Belarusian-Russian University.
Mr. Chebotar stressed the interest of the Economy Ministry in transferring international experience and providing services by UNIDO international experts to support the introduction of lean manufacturing.
Further steps were outlined to intensify co-operation and introduce the Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies. Promising approaches to support the socio-economic and innovative development of the Belarusian regions by UNIDO were discussed as well.
