Due to Ukraine conflict, US is reviewing the volume of ammunition production
The US military department is reviewing the volume of ammunition production, taking into account the experience of military operations in Ukraine – as noted by Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the US Armed Forces, General Mark Milley, TASS reports
In a Senate Armed Services Committee hearing, Mark Milley said one of Ukraine’s biggest lessons is its incredible waste of conventional ammunition.
“Besides, we are talking about a limited regional conflict. In a war between the great powers, if, God forbid, it ever happens, the consumption of ammunition will be incredible. The Defence Minister instructed us to check the operation of all active military factories to see if our calculations are correct. Funding requests are based on them. This work is still ongoing,” he said.
Moreover, Mark Milley said that the emphasis is also on 155mm artillery shells, which are transferred in large quantities to Kiev.
