Deputy Sports and Tourism Minister: we expect about 6m foreigners to visit Belarus for tourism purposes by late 2023
The Sports and Tourism Ministry expects that by the end of 2023, about 6 million foreigners will visit Belarus for tourism purposes, Deputy Sports and Tourism Minister Oleg Andreichik told reporters
According to him, inbound tourism is actively developing in our country.
“Belarus is among the top countries to visit for Russian tourists. We see that accommodation facilities in Minsk and regional centres are booked for the New Year holidays, with 65-67 percent of all reserved places purchased by guests from the eastern neighbouring country,” the Deputy Minister added. “We expect that by the end of the year about 6 million foreigners will visit our country for tourism purposes. I think this is wonderful.”
The representative of the Sports and Tourism Ministry also underlined that the visa-free entry procedure with Lithuania, Poland, and Latvia is working efficiently, “Statistics show a 20 percent increase compared to last year. It is important that tourists from these countries come to Belarus to relax, visit relatives, improve their health in sanatoriums, and visit our cultural sites.”
Oleg Andreichik underlined, “We can state that the post-pandemic period is becoming a thing of the past. I hope we never go back to it again. Movement both within Belarus and within the CIS and non-CIS states is developing dynamically.”
