Dead foreigner found on border with Poland
On April 8th, a dead man of non-Slavic appearance was discovered on the Belarusian-Polish border in the Pruzhany District, sb.by reports with reference to the Telegram channel of Belarus’ State Border Committee
“On the evening of April 8th, a border patrol found another dead man of non-Slavic appearance on the Belarusian-Polish border in the Pruzhany District. This is the third death of refugees since early 2023 on the border with Poland,” the State Border Committee noted, adding that the dead foreigner was discovered near animal gate in the Polish fence.
The Belarusian border department reported that an investigative and operational group worked on the spot to establish the circumstances of the incident. The Investigative Committee employees found a passport issued to a 36-year-old Afghan citizen in the personal belongings of the deceased.
Since 2021, 48 deaths of foreigners have been recorded on the border with neighbouring EU states, 24 of which were on the border with Poland.
