Danilchik: close attention paid to the development of electronic warfare system in Belarus
The Armed Forces of Belarus are regularly equipping units with up-to-date technical equipment. Chief of the General Staff Electronic Warfare Department of the Belarusian Armed Forces, Colonel Igor Danilchik, told SB TV about the extent to which the equipment in service with the electronic warfare troops meets the requirements of the time.
First of all, he noted that timely re-equipment is necessary in order to meet the modern challenges and threats, “Science and production enable us to create equipment that corresponds to the current level. We must pay tribute to our leadership, who pays close attention to the development of the electronic warfare system. This direction receives the proper attitude. Decisions made at the level of the Head of State and the Defence Minister enable us to look confidently into the future. By 2025, we plan to complete the transfer of our military units to new electronic warfare systems. Moreover, the line of these tools will include a complete range, enabling us to work in the radio frequency spectrum from 1MHz to 6000MHz: short waves, ultra-short waves... We can influence any means of communication on the battlefield, without any exceptions. We can work via all kinds of short-wave radio communications, cellular communications, and Digital Mobile Radio, which is now used by everyone. We can work using satellite communication systems, satellite navigation, etc. It is possible to work via Starlink. In general, I don’t know what communication systems we can’t work with.”
According to Igor Danilchik, Belarus boasts world-level developments, “We have, e.g., personal protective electronic warfare equipment for airplanes and helicopters, enabling us to save the lives of our pilots and to preserve our aircraft in the most difficult conditions of countering air defence. This has already been tested and proven to be effective. We have means, enabling us to protect objects from the impact of various types of UAVs. We have everything, and all the most modern equipment is systematically entering the troops.”
