Common gas market planned
An international agreement on the formation of a common gas market is likely to be signed in 2022 – as announced by the official representative of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), Iya Malkina
“In accordance with the deadlines approved by the heads of the EAEU states, an international agreement on formation of a common gas market is planned to be signed in 2022,” the official said.
Speaking of whether formation of a common gas market of Belarus and Russia within the framework of the Union State will be synchronised with the same process within the EAEU, Ms. Malkina noted, “The level of integration in the Union State is deeper and essentially means unification of the participating countries’ gas markets, creation of identical mechanisms for their regulation and a common infrastructure.”
