China to accelerate development of advanced technologies
China will accelerate the pace of development and implementation of innovative technologies in the country, primarily, robotics and quantum computers, RIA Novosti reports
From a joint statement of 7 Chinese departments – the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, as well as the Chinese Academy of Sciences – it became known that China needs to increase planning in the area of innovative technologies and accelerate the creation of high-quality new productive forces.
From the published principles of the departments, it follows that by 2025, the goal is to achieve a breakthrough across at least 100 major advanced technologies, and by 2027, the Chinese authorities plan to ‘significantly increase comprehensive power in the field of future technologies’ and achieve global leadership in a number of areas.
The statement also draws attention to the need for a breakthrough in the production of anthropomorphic robots and quantum computers, alongside increasing the implementation of advanced products.
The main directions for the development of advanced technologies include healthcare, information, new energy, new materials, space, and new production.
