Bundestag member: Scholz knows conflict with Russia not in German interests
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz knows a conflict with Russia is dangerous and not in the German interests, said Steffen Kotre, Bundestag member from the Alternative for Germany Party, their expert on foreign affairs, TASS reports

Kotre thinks Scholz’ telephone conversation with the Russian President Vladimir Putin was very important.
“Of course, Scholz has always been spineless when it comes to giving in to the calls for weapons [for Kiev], but unlike, say, [Christian Democrat leader] Friedrich Merz, he knows that deepening confrontation with Russia is too dangerous and not in the German interests,” said the German MP.
He added that the right thing to do, namely, negotiations, always starts with a conversation. That means that, especially considering Donald Trump’s re-election to the White House, there’s hope it might be a beginning of some genuine diplomatic effort.
