BSUIR named one of its leading projects
In his talk with the STV TV channel, Vice-Rector for Research at the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics (BSUIR) Viktor Stempitsky spoke about one of the university’s best achievements in recent years
“Our university is one of Belarus’ leading technical universities, a leading technical university in the field of computer science, radioelectronics, micro- and nano-electronics. I would like to point out that the modern world is not just about programmes. These are programmes that run on some kind of hardware. They are machine tools, televisions, computers – anything. We live in the world of gadgets, we have to use them situationally. So, modern engineers, specialists we train, must not only be able to write code, but also have an understanding of what it is done for,” Mr. Stempitsky explained.
Speaking about the university’s latest achievements, he added, “For example, one of our leading projects in recent years is the automotive radar: a medium-range collision warning. We are now working on the next generation: a short-range radar that integrates into the braking system.”
The BSUIR Vice-Rector for Research also stressed that Belarus implements a system of comprehensive scientific research at all levels, ‘at the level of companies, the Academy of Sciences, universities’, “Everyone makes a certain contribution based on their competencies, level of knowledge, and capabilities.”
