Britain to transfer precision-guided missiles with a range of 70km to Ukraine
The UK authorities intend to provide military assistance to Kiev – sending M270 launch systems which can fire precision-guided missiles up to 70km, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the British Defence Ministry’s press release
Ben Wallace, the Secretary of State for Defence, noted that Britain will transfer guided missiles to Ukraine – despite warnings from Russia. It is reported that London will also supply the necessary ammunition to Ukraine.
"Alongside the weapon system, the UK will also supply M31A1 munitions at scale,” the release reads.
Last week, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that, in the event of the transfer of long-range missiles to Ukraine, the Russian side would draw certain conclusions about striking the objects that had not previously been hit.
Earlier, the press secretary of the Russian President, Dmitry Peskov, said that supplies of weapons to Ukrainian troops cannot positively affect the current global situation. According to him, it is Ukraine that is more likely to suffer from such assistance than Russia.
