It is reported that ‘the UK is set to be the first G7 country to stop using coal to generate electricity’.

Germany plans to do the same by 2038, Canada – by 2030, and Italy (excluding the island of Sardinia) – by the end of 2025.

According to media reports, the closure of the last coal-fired power plant will be a key step in decarbonising electricity in the kingdom by 2030.
