Britain claims necessity to move towards political solution to Ukrainian conflict
The British government needs to set a course to find a political and diplomatic solution to the Ukrainian conflict instead of fomenting war – as stated by a member of the House of Lords of the British Parliament, Robert Skidelsky, TASS reports
Robert Skidelsky noted that he did not understand the logic of the British government. According to him, most experts do not consider the possibility of a complete victory for Kyiv to be realistic.
“Shouldn't the government tie Ukraine's support to a public push for a negotiated solution, which is being promoted by many countries in the world, while levers of influence on the situation remain, including to avoid the unnecessary killing of thousands of Ukrainians and Russians?” Robert Skidelsky asked.
In response to the question, UK Deputy Foreign Secretary Tariq Ahmad noted that Britain would continue to support Ukraine, and called on Russia to ‘stop the war’.
