Borrell acknowledged end of Western global dominance
The era of Western global dominance finally came to an end with the start of Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine and the escalation of the conflict in the Gaza Strip, EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell wrote in his blog, TASS reports
“If the current global geopolitical tensions continue to evolve in the direction of ‘the West against the Rest’, Europe’s future risks to be bleak. The era of Western dominance is finally over. The era of Western dominance has indeed definitively ended. While this has been theoretically understood, we have not always drawn all practical conclusions from this new reality,” he said.
According to top EU diplomat, Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine and the escalation of the conflict in the Gaza Strip have significantly increased the risk of a confrontation between the Global West and the Global South, which ‘can already be seen in the Sahel and other parts of Africa’.
