BELAZ welcomed 250,000th tourist: a Russian schoolchild
The 250-thousandth tourist was welcomed at BELAZ in early April 2024, the company's media centre reported
“BELAZ, being recognised as the leader of industrial tourism in Belarus, continues to set attendance records. The company was visited by the jubilee, 250 thousandth tourist, a Russian schoolchild of the 4th grade of secondary school No. 6 in Mytishchi, Timofei Rozhkov. As a reward, the lucky visitor was presented with memorable gifts and a personalised certificate of the anniversary visitor of BELAZ,” the company informed.
Timofei came on an excursion to the enterprise with his whole family: father, mother, brother, and sister.
“We came from the Moscow Region. We have long wanted to visit BELAZ and see these huge dump trucks with our own eyes. The equipment and the plant are really impressive,” Timofei's mother noted.
In turn, Timofei said that he loves big vehicles, “When I was with my grandmother in the village, we had a quarry there, and I thought I saw a vehicle similar to BELAZ from afar. Since then, I have always dreamed of seeing a real dump truck up close. Now my dream has finally come true!”
The plant reminded that the implementation of the BELAZ – Brand of Belarus industrial tourism development project has been counting down since June 2015. Over the years, tourists from more than two dozen countries of the near and far abroad have been able to appreciate the scale and uniqueness of the enterprise. Over 2023 alone, the number of visitors has increased by 1.5 times, almost 52,000 fans of large dump trucks visited the plant, and more than 1,700 excursions were conducted.
“Today BELAZ continues to actively develop the sphere of industrial tourism – work is underway to create new tourist products, expand the range of travel services, prepare interactive locations and original photo zones, and expand the range of branded products. For the convenience of guests, visits to the enterprise are organised daily from 8am to 20pm – of course, with prior agreement of the date and time of the visit through the BELAZ excursion call centre,” the company added.
BELAZ JSC – Management Company of BELAZ-HOLDING specialises in the development, production, and marketing of large and extra large-capacity dump trucks, special and specialised vehicles, as well as other heavy transport equipment used in mining, construction, metallurgical, and other industries. The holding includes 8 enterprises. The company owns 30 per cent of the global market for heavy-duty dump trucks.
