BELAZ presented their vision of mining equipment development in St. Petersburg

BELAZ sent their representative to the Transport. Future Vision international conference to discuss the most topical issues related to designing and implementing novel high-tech solutions in transport and mining industries

The conference took place in the Empress Catherine II Saint Petersburg Mining University.

“At the conference, Alexey Grachev, Deputy General Director for Strategic Development and Corporate Management, took part in discussing key issues faced by the mining industry. They covered production of innovative equipment, its safe operation, and the legal foundation required for that. There were also proposals related to effective technology replication and subsequent mass implementation, along with developing talent needed to design and operate such highly advanced machinery, including via dedicated curriculums and applied science toolsets,” informed the BELAZ press-centre.

In his presentation, Mr. Grachev pointed out the importance of training platforms similar to the BELAZ Innovation Competence Centre that had opened at the Mining University in 2022.

“Our education and practical training complex offers an innovative approach to professional training and uses modern equipment and latest teaching materials to follow its foundational principle of marrying science, education, and hands-on production,” explained in the corporate press centre.

OJSC BELAZ, the managing company of BELAZ-HOLDING, specialises in design, production, and sales of high and ultra-high capacity dump trucks, special purpose and utility vehicles, as well as other heavy transport equipment used in mining, construction, metallurgy, etc. The holding consists of eight companies. BELAZ owns 30 percent of the global ultra-high capacity dump trucks market.
