Belarusian, Russian taekwondo athletes allowed to participate in international tournaments
The World Taekwondo Federation allowed athletes from Belarus and Russia to participate in international competitions in a neutral status, according to information published on the website of the Taekwondo Union of Russia
Belarusians and Russians will be allowed to participate in international competitions starting from the 2023 World Cup, which will be held in late spring in Baku.
A decision on the participation of individual neutral athletes and support personnel with Russian and Belarusian passports in other events not promoted by World Taekwondo will be made after the Baku 2023 World Taekwondo Championships.
World Taekwondo said a Review Committee and verification process would ensure the ‘strict neutrality’ of any Russians or Belarusians competing.
