Lukashenko signed decree to grant Belarusian citizenship to 409 persons from 21 countries

The corresponding decree No. 206 has been signed today, July 10th, by President Aleksandr Lukashenko, the Belarusian leader’s press service reports

The signing of the document was preceded by a meeting of the Commission on Citizenship Issues under the President of the Republic of Belarus held in Minsk’s Town Hall. Petitions for granting citizenship to 409 persons from 21 countries, including 46 minors, were supported then.

Over the past two years, the Head of State has granted citizenship to 4,436 people, including 3,572 residents of Ukraine. Among the latter were primarily those coming from the Donetsk and Lugansk regions.

Acceptance and consideration of applications for citizenship of the Republic of Belarus continues.
