Belarus’ woodworking factories reorienting to China and Russia
Woodworking factories of Belarus are reorienting their supplies to the markets of China and Russia against the backdrop of the introduction of anti-Belarusian sanctions – as stated by the Chairman of Bellesbumprom Concern, Mikhail Kasko, in his talk with STV TV channel
“We have been successfully working with this market [China] for a long time. It was ranked fifth at the end of last year. We have been supplying pulp there for a long time. This is one of our largest consumers. Now we are working to expand the range of goods supplied there. The first container trains with sawn timber have already left,” underlined Mikhail Kasko.
Moreover, the Chairman of Bellesbumprom Concern said that Belarus intends to establish more active co-operation with a range of Russian regions and entrepreneurs.
“This collaboration has been going on for a long time. Some of our large well-known furniture factories boast a developed sales network across all Russian regions, as well as their own stores. Interaction has been successfully established in the area of supply of individual raw materials and chemical products. It is pleasant that the first vehicle with furniture went to the Far East, to the Khabarovsk Krai,” stated Mr. Kasko.
