Belarus to present large-scale exposition at China International Import Exhibition
The 7th China International Import Expo will be held in Shanghai from November 5th to 10th, 2024, and Belarus will present its large-scale exposition there – as is traditional
The exhibition has been held annually since 2018, and it is one of the largest multi-industry shows in China. The Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mikhail Myatlikov, explained, “In 2023, more than 3.4 thousand companies from 154 countries and regions took part in the exhibition, and the number of visitors reached almost 500 thousand people. The exhibition covers 600 thousand square metres, being one of the largest exhibition centres in the world. It attracts not only Chinese companies and experts, but also specialists from other countries. Actually, companies from half the globe attend the fair usually, so it is expected to yield fruits for Belarus.”
Last year, $78.4bn of contracts were signed at the exhibition, so the interest of Belarusian companies is high. The national exposition of Belarus is scheduled to be presented in two thematic pavilions: Food and Agricultural Products and High-Tech Equipment and Information Technology.
“The Belarusian exposition surprises visitors every year,” Natalia Kurash, the Director of the Belinterexpo exhibition unitary enterprise, noted. “We will bring Belarusian cuisine and national music to China, and we will amaze visitors to the show with our Belovezhskaya Pushcha, interesting content, and high-quality food. Our stand at the high-tech pavilion will present the achievements of our industrial and scientific flagships. We will also have a business programme with various presentations. Sixty Belarusian enterprises are planning to take part in the exhibition this year.”
Conceptually, the Belarusian stand will continue the theme of presenting the country’s famous socio-cultural artefacts, and it will have a design of Belovezhskaya Pushcha, reflecting its major flora and fauna objects, emphasising the uniqueness of the natural park, taking into account the global environmental agenda and the Year of Quality declared by the President of Belarus in 2024.
Belarus and China enjoy long-lasting reliable partnership in a wide range of areas. Active trade in goods and services, expansion of investment co-operation and interaction in various industries contribute to the strengthening of economic ties and mutual development. Measures to increase the presence of Belarusian exporters of goods and services in the Chinese market are carried out on a systematic basis, including within the framework of the agreements reached at the highest level.
“Relations between the two countries develop dynamically and maintain positive dynamics. China is actively investing in the Belarusian economy," the Counsellor for Commercial and Economic Affairs of the Embassy of China in Belarus, Wang Ruijuan, said. “The participation of Belarusian enterprises and companies in the 7th China International Import Exhibition will strengthen co-operation with partners in the Chinese market and the region as a whole, intensify the development of multi-level liaisons between Belarus and China, ensure the effective implementation of projects in the fields of economy and trade, investment, tourism and culture. Over the past six years, the exhibition has attracted representatives from 181 countries and regions, as well as 116 thousand enterprises. The amount of transactions concluded has reached $402bn.”
