Belarus’ State Authority for Military Industry completed work on developing mobile complex to counter small UAVs
Belarus’ State Authority for Military Industry has completed development work on the creation of the Sapsan mobile complex for countering small unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), sb.by reports citing the State Authority for Military Industry
The complex is designed to protect critical facilities from small UAVs. It provides their search, detection, tracking, electronic suppression and fire destruction in an automated mode.
“The capabilities of this development allow to detect small UAVs at a range of at least 3,000m by radar and at least 1,800m by optoelectronic reconnaissance means, as well as to carry out fire defeat of small UAVs at a range of at least 40om,” the press service said.
The Sapsan complex was created with the assistance of the defence sector of the Belarusian economy.
It is mounted on the MZKT-500-200-010 cross-country chassis adopted by the Armed Forces, has an open configuration and can include several reconnaissance and fire modules (with workplaces for combat personnel, radar and optoelectronic reconnaissance, communications and fire control equipment), as well as stations and complexes of radio-technical reconnaissance and electronic warfare.
