Belarus, South Africa outlined further steps to enhance co-operation
Belarus’ Foreign Minister Sergei Aleinik discussed the current state and prospects for the development of Belarusian-South African relations with the Deputy Minister of International Relations and Co-operation of the Republic of South Africa, Alvin Botes, the Belarusian Foreign Ministry reports
“During the meeting, the parties confirmed their interest in strengthening co-operation, and also outlined further steps to enhance liaisons between Belarus and South Africa in a number of areas. Special attention was paid to the development of trade and economic relations, in particular, the possibility of implementing the agricultural mechanisation programme in South Africa. The Belarusian side noted the successful application of advanced agricultural technologies in Africa that contribute to solving the problem of food security. The parties also touched upon issues of co-operation between Belarus and South Africa in international organisations, including the UN, BRICS and other structures,” the source said.
